Outfitt og the day - OOTD #2

Hi and hope every one had a blast this weekend. Pål and I went up to Svanstul and enjoyed the nice sunny weather. But that’s for a later post.
This post is about my outfit. I wore this outfit to my moms’ birthday that we celebrated on the 14th of February. She lives up in Bærum that is about a two-hour drive from our house.

The top is from H&M, the skirt is from Vivikes and you can read more about my watch in this Valentines Day post.

I’m also using this post to verify my blogglisten.no membership

Throw Back Thursday – Travel to Latvia - Erasmus + / Youth in Action

As a part of my job as a managing director of a volunteer center I’m sometimes able to travel on training courses.  In the winter of 2013 I hade the opportunity to go to Latvia through the EU program Youth in Action, witch has now become a part of the Erasmus + program. It was a super informative program that helped me immensely in preparing me in the transition to the new program. A little short note about what Erasmus + / Youth in action is. It’s a EU program that gives youth ranging from 18 to 30 the opportunity to learn and develop skills in a informal setting. Most of the time it’s done in collaboration with NGOs. So if you would like to know about Erasmus + check it out it’s an amazing program. If you live in a country that borders to a EU country you may also be able to partake.

Her is the link to the website for more information: http://ec.europa.eu/programmes/erasmus-plus/index_en.htm

So here are some pictures from the trip, hope that you’ll enjoy.
The earliest train going from Skien to the Oslo airport was
like 4:15 or something in the morning. It was brutal getting up that early.
Luckily the train goes straight to the airport and I didn't have to change trains.
It takes about 3 1/2 hours by train.

Finally, arrived at Oslo airport.

Looking for my flight.

Flying on the cheap wit norwegian airlines.

View from the bus from Riga airport in to the centre of Riga City.

Trying to find my connecting train to the location of the training site.
People in Riga seamed to be shy and not so happy about
answering questions in English. So finding the right train was some what of a conundrum.
So I was either on a train to Moscow or on the right one.

My super nice and quiet hotel room.
Unfortunately the thick walls made the internet was super slow.

We don't have a bathtub at home so I was so exited see one in my room.
Well, the schedule  was so hectic that I didn't get the time to use it.

Alcohol free welcome cocktails.

DIY name tags.

Valentines Day

Happy Valentines Day to every one!

Hope that every one hade a blast and love filled day. As in many other countries, Valentines Day hasn’t been around for long and is considered a modern day holiday and a new thing in Norway. Some have embraced it and some are total against it because they think that it’s an Americanization of our culture. I personally think that with all the negative things happening in the world, having one day where we can try to take a breather and focus on LOVE is good in my book.

Pål and I usually spend the day together and use the time to talk about how we are doing relationship vise. We also buy gift to each other, but it varies allot from year to year how much we spend. It all depends on financial situation at the time and our wish list at the time.

This year we went all out. It’s the first time we spent this amount. It’s actually quite funny how we ended up buying the gifts we did.

I knew that Pål’s watches where all broken in one shape or another and that it would be nice to have a new one. I say “nice” because I wouldn’t define getting a nice watch as a necessity. So I decided to get him a nice one that hopefully will last for a while. I also had a conversation with the store clerk about what kind of watch she would recommend for me. I have also been looking for a watch. So I bought the watch and when I gave it to Pål he looked so suspicious. He unwrapped the gift and started smiling. He then said that I just had to open his gift too. That’s when I noticed that it had the exactly the same wrapping as Pål’s gift. Could it really be that he had also bought me a watch? Yes he had! This is the funny part in my opinion. Pål and I went to the same store at different times on the same day and bought each other watches without planning it out in head of time.

So what do you do for Valentines Day? I would also be interested in knowing if Valentines Day is celebrated in your country and how long has it been celebrated?
Hope to hear from you all soon.

XOXO

Yumi
