Juletrefest i Røyskattvegen

Every year in our neighborhood there is a christmas tree party. We start by meeting up at one of the neighbors houses. There we hade some refreshments, grilled sausages, gløg and blåtår.
Then we walked through the neighborhood with torches singing christmas songs. At the end of our destination some of the neighbors had sett up som christmas decorations including a nativity.
One important tradition of a Norwegian christmas tree party is the holding of hands and walking around the christmas tree singing christmas song. Then at the and the children shout out calling for Santa. He usually comes and hands out smale bag of candy.

I realy enjoy this tradition because it gives me a nice opportunity to gett to know the neighbors.

New sofa

We hade been looking around for a new sofa for a while, but we weren't finding anything we liked. So one day i got an ad in the mail, I got so mad because we have a sticker on our mailbox saying that we do not accept advertisement. I usually just take it straight to the recycling bin. This time i decided to take a quick look, and there it was, just what we wanted. The size and price we where looking for. 3 hours later we where at Bohus getting a new sofa.

Little walk + NEW ATV

Pål and I went for a little walk to a lake by close to our house. It was still quite snowy. The lake was amazing with so many beautiful colors. We haven't been to this part of the area around our house before so I'm exited to see how it is during the summer. After our nice walk we went down to the CBP store to take a second look at some ATV's. Pål allredy hase one, but it's getting old and he was in need of a upgrade. We got to the store and they had a great deal on a ATV that was exactley what we were looking for so I told him to go for it. So Pål got himself a brand new ATV. Its a Polaris Sportsman tractor 500.

Her er en liten oppdatering på hva som skjer med pus, som nå heter Tigerpus. Det var stå trist å se hvor sår Tigerpus hadde det under pelsen han hadde også orm. Stakar pus. Sån som det ser ut nå må pus holde seg inne i næreme 1mnd. Det kommer til å bli skikkelig tøft for Tigerpus for han har så lyst til å gå ut.

One of the things that I love about paper crafting, are all the amazing colors. These retro colors just make me so happy. Love them.

In making this card I have used the Crate Paper Brook Collection kit . I really like this kit because there is a huge combination of patterns and papers. I can easily make a masculine card or a romantic wedding card. Them sentiment "Gratulerer" is from a stamp set made by Storyteller. Unfortunately I can't tell you which stamp set because they don't mark their stamp set with name or number.

Our little baby’s came home from the veterinarian yesterday.

They where totally zoned out because of the anesthesia.

It was so funny seeing them wobbling around on the floor and

tripping over their own legs. Although we love Ask and Embla,

the vet bill did sting. Embla is the gray cat and Ask is the golden cat.

Yesterday I had the opportunity to attend the baby blessing of my nephew. He is a super cute and happy baby. After the blessing they had a little gathering at their home. I just loved how they hade carried some of the furniture outside.. It became a comfortable and relaxing garden party. I just loved it!! The photos where taken with my iPhote 3Gs and I have used the app Plastic Bulletas recommended by Izzy at the Paperclipping Round Table.

Last Saturday we celebrated our godchild’s 1^st birthday.

His parents Raissa and Sergio through a awesome party.

I ordered it of Ebay from the seller Simon Says Stamp The ordered was shipped very fast, thats why I was so surprised to get in the mail already. I also got a super cute stamp as an extra little gift. Loved it.

I just bought some super cute paper from Crate Paper. To be more precise it was the Paper Doll Collection Kit.

I usually by Collection kits because of all the coordinating embellishments that come with them. I have also tried a new twist with the ribbon.

just love this pattern paper, it’s bright and just makes me happy. I tried to enhance some of the cupcakes on the pattern papper by adding some Glossy Accents.

I liked the finale look of it when it was done, but I hade some problems with the paper warping. If you have any tips on how to reduce paper warping I would appreciate it if you left a comment about it, thanks.

Some of my coworkers and I got together and had a crop night at out LSS. It was a short crop, I stayed for about three hours. But during that time, (I don’t know if I should share this on a public blog, I’ll live with it.) I only made ONE card. To make matters even worse, I hade a spelling error in my title so I hade to redo the whole thing when I came home. Talk bout zoning completely out.

I have previously mentioned that I’m working on my handwriting. One of the reasons is that I want to be able to make my cards more personal, and originally made by me. Another part of this process is to hand draw images on my cards. Drawing is a skill that needs work so I’m trying to draw something every day. It’s hard to just draw without being critical and trying to hard. These to cards I have drawn the images. Enjoy.

Happy Birthday,

We celebrated my boss’ birthday today, so I got inspired to make some birthday cards. Unfortunately I’m still struggling with the lighting, at least the sun is staying up for longer for each day that goes by. challenges because I find it to be quite restrictive.

Over the last couple of weeks I've made some more cards.
I finally got around to take some pictures. The problem has been getting the right lighting. It gets dark really early during the winter in Norway so natural sunlight is hard to come by.
I have started to think about maybe selling the cards that I make. But I don't know where I could sell them and how much would i take for them. So if any of you have some advise about selling cards pleas do share.

Er kjempe spent på å finne mer ut av denne maskinen. Demoen ble lansert CHA sommer 2009. Den endelige utgaven ble lansert nå på CHA 2010.

Jeg liker:

designen, moderne og fin å ha fram.
Det er lett å skifte ut skære bladene.
Man trenger ikke å justere kuttedelen selv om man skal kutte papir med forskjellig tykkelse. Den gjør det automatisk.
Ingen begrensninger på hvor langt man kan skrive ut.
Ingen kuttematte å vedlikeholde eller bytte ut.
Kan brukes ute datamaskin.
Kan kobles opp til datamaskin og da kutter den ut fonter og figurer som er på datmaskinen.

Jeg er spent på hvem som kommer til å selge denne maskinen her i Norge og hvor mye de kommer til å ta for den. Er også veldig spent på hva slags design kort de kommer til å tilby.

I dag hadde vi vår første fellessamling i kirken. Det var en helt fantastisk samling. Barna var som svamper for alt det vakre som er inne i den vakre kirken vår. Gulset kirke har virkerlig blit en vakker kirke.

Østens Perle i Porsgrunn

Som noen av dere kjenner til så er Pål og jeg glad i å gå ut og spise. Vi er nå i gang med å bli kjent med de ulike spisestedene som er Grenland.

Vi har nå vært og spist på Østens Perle flere ganger og to av de gangene hadde vi bestilt bord. Alle gangene har vi spist Sushi. Så denne vurderingen er basert på erfaringer vi har hatt over flere besøk.

Jeg kan starte med å si at de på Østens Perle er synske da de ikke trenger å notere seg navnet ditt når du bestiller bord. Pål og jeg var skikkelig spente for vi hadde ikke spist Sushi på lenge. Flere av rettene var utsolgte. De hadde tjent på å skrenke inn meyen sin.

Service: Da vi kom fram var det ingen som møtte oss ved døren Vi hadde tross alt bestilt bord og forventet å bli tatt i mot for å bli vist hvor vi skulle site. Vi ble stående en stund før jeg fikk tak i en servitør som pekte ut en plass. Vi gikk bort der vi trodde han pekte. Men etter en liten stund kom servitøren og ba oss om å flytte oss. Vi satt på feil bord. Ja vell tenkte vi. Hadde du gjort jobben din og vist oss til bordet og gitt oss menyer hadde dette ikke skjedd. Så der satt vi og venta da, på menyen for den hadde vi enda ikke fått. Underveis gikk jeg tom for drikke og servitøren dukket aldri opp og var umulig å få tak i. Det var de som gikk glipp et salg.

Forretten: Vi bestilte Tom Yum Goong Suppe, dette er en svært sterk Thai suppe som skal ha en veldig særpreget smak. Suppen vi fikk servert var mild uten noe særpreg og det var ikke noe galengal i suppa. Suppa var så sjokkerende dårlig at jeg bare måtte spørre servitøren. Serviøtren sa at de laget den på en annen måte, en kinesisk måte ikke på Thai måten. Men i menyen står den under Thai retter. Dette her blir som å kalle en suppe for tomatsuppe for å så servere spinatsuppe.

Hovedretten: Vi bestilte kombinasjonsmenyen som er for to personer. Pris 400kr. Sushien er kjempe god og på nivå med de beste Sushi restaurantene i Oslo. Dette er grunnen til at vi har kommet tilbake. Fisken er fersk og veldig smakfull. Kobinasjonen av fisk er også spennende da de bruker en god variasjon av fiskesorter.

Deserten: Wow hva skal jeg si. Svigermor hadde bursdag og jeg hadde ringt på forhånd og fortalt dette. Da vi skullebestille desert presterte servitøren å si. Eh... foresten var det dere som ringte om bursdag, er det hun som har bursdag. Jeg ble helt sjokka og stutra ut et ja. HALO, det skulle liksom være en overaskelse til henne. Tragisk!!!
Bestile banana split. Fikk servert vaniljeis som det smakte hvitløk av. Et ord kom opp i hodet mitt. KRYSFORRURENSNING DELUX: Heldigvis har ingen av oss blitt sjuke enda og vi har spist sushi. Tok det opp med servitøren og der var det ikke noe forståelse å få. Måtte fortsatt betale.
Så konklusjonen er, skal du ha noe annet enn Sushi ville jeg ikke spist der. Bestil Sushien og ta den med hjem.

After long time of contemplating Pål and I decided to move to Skien. It was a big step for us moving from a big city like Oslo to a smaller town like Skien. Pål and I both got god jobs, that really helped a lot. Pål got a job at Grocery-store Meny in the neighboring town Porsgrunn as an freshproduce manager (thats what i think it's called) and I got a job at LillFot barnehage working as a Preschool teacher. We are loving our new jobs.
I have taken some picture of Skien for all of you to enjoy.
